Sitting down to write this article, I hear myself think: “I don’t know what to write, and anyway people won’t take the time to read it.”
Realizing that I’m judging myself and others, I take a moment to look out the window and breathe. The fading blue sky and the old grey house next door are exquisitely still against the hum of traffic. It’s a meditative pause.
That’s when I know my judging mind is getting in the way. It creates an irritable feeling which leads me to avoid the challenge ahead.
